Relay for Life of Greene County concludes its fundraising for 2015 on Aug. 21. Anyone still wishing to still contribute may take donations to Nikki Uebel at Peoples Trust & Savings Bank in Jefferson.
Another $350 was deposited by teams and memorials following the event held in late April. A grand total of $51,258.14 has been credited to Greene County for 2015.
The top three teams in fundraising were Home State Bank’s Team Towers with $6,073; Cancer Crusaders with $2,595, and BPO Does with $2,305.
The silent auction raised $5,734; the Color Out Cancer 5K run/walk raised $4,755; and sponsorships totaled $12,925.
Relay for Life chair Peg Raney thanked all who participated. A goal for 2016 is to have more teams involved with campsites and activities for them.
The 2016 Relay for Life has been set for Saturday, April 23. The Relay committee welcomes interested people to get involved. Meetings are held once a month and will begin in September. Contact Raney at 515-386-2797 for more information.
